Welcome to JKL Custom Cabinets. My name is Ken and I produce and install high quality, hand built cabinets in a wide variety of designs at an affordable price. I work alongside my wife, Liz, who works in the background bringing design skills and taking care of the "business" side. This is not just a business or a job. It is my passion and I put my heart into this because I love what I do and I'm good at it. My cabinets are custom built but the bonus is that the pricing is situated between "off the shelf" cabinets and custom cabinets.
Cabinet boxes are made of 3/4 inch Birch Plywood (not particle board) and the interior can be either clear coated or painted, depending on preference. Boxes are screwed together, as well as stapled, and no dowel pins are used. This ensures very long lasting strength and durability. Cabinet Boxes are constructed either in the European/Frameless style or can be made with Face Frames depending on preference.
Painted doors are made of HDF (High Density Fiberboard) which is more stable and better quality than MDF. It will not expand, contract or warp. Shaker Style doors, in a variety of profiles, and Flat Panel doors are available. We also offer natural wood variations as well, such as Rift Sawn White Oak.
Non-solvent paints are used for a low enviromental impact, resulting in a very hard and durable finish.
